Your notes, places and settings stay on your iPhone. cvgate has no account, no sign-in and no server behind it. What you write cannot be read from outside the phone, and the app collects no analytics, no advertising identifiers, no usage statistics of any kind.
| Notes and plans | On your device only. |
|---|---|
| Places you saved | Name, keywords, address, coordinates, phone, website — on your device only. |
| Location of a note | Recorded with the note, on your device only. |
| Emergency information | Hospitals, pharmacies and police stations found near the areas you visit, saved so they can be read offline. On your device only. |
| Settings and voice keys | On your device only. |
If you back up your iPhone, this data is included in your own Apple backup, under your control. You can also export everything to a single file yourself — that file is written wherever you choose to save it.
It leaves only when you ask for it, and only to the service you asked for.
With your permission, the app uses your location to record where a note was written and to sort your places by distance. Your location is used on the device. It is not transmitted anywhere — there is no server to send it to.
Voice input uses Apple's speech recognition. Depending on your device, language and settings, recognition may happen on the device or may be processed by Apple's servers; this is Apple's service and is governed by Apple's privacy policy. The app also asks the recognizer to keep recognition on the device for short, repeated inputs where that is available.
Searching for a place uses Apple Maps data on your device. When you choose to open a place in Google Maps, the words you spoke or typed are sent to Google as a search query, in your browser or the Google Maps app. That request is governed by Google's privacy policy.
Gem Finder builds a question from the place you selected and the prompt you chose, and opens it in an AI service (currently Grok) in your browser. Nothing is sent until you open it, and you see the exact text beforehand. What happens to that text afterwards is governed by that service's privacy policy.
The app can open a search on X or Instagram for a place name you chose. Those are ordinary web links opened in your browser.
If you ask the app to put a plan in your calendar, and give permission, the event is written to your own iPhone calendar. It is not sent anywhere else.
Buying the full version is handled entirely by Apple, through the App Store. The app only checks, on the device, whether the full version has been bought for your Apple ID. Your card number, your name and your Apple ID are never passed to the app. The purchase is governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.
cvgate is a travel notebook intended for general audiences. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Everything the app holds is on your device. Deleting the app removes it. You may also export your data to a file at any time, and restore it on another device. Permissions for location, microphone, speech recognition and calendar can be withdrawn at any time in the iPhone Settings app.
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date above.
